Hunger Games!

Every year at Christmas, I buy my nieces and nephews books. That's right, I'm THAT Aunt. You know, the corny one, who tries to force you to read, the awesome one.

ANYWAYS, this year, I bought the Hunger Games series for my oldest niece, Jerica. She was totally thrilled, annoyed that she now had to read three books instead of the traditional one. To make it a little easier on her, I told her that if she read the first book before the movie came out, that I would take her to see it.

The BEST...or worst?! Christmas gift ever.

Fast-forward to Spring Break. Jerica's little sister, Jacey, has read not just the first book, but all three. Since I promised to take Jer if she read the book, Jacey had requested the same. Jerica STILL hadn't finished the last book, but she powered through it, and completed it just minutes before we were supposed to leave for the movie. So off we went!
Can't wait!
The girls spent the majority of the movie pointing out the inconsistencies between the book and the movie. All in all, we enjoyed the movie. I would even recommend to others! However,  we all seemed to agree that this was the best part of the movie:
Tall, dark, and funny in a post apocalyptic way? I'll take one please!
And he comes to the rescue with your kid sister is having a fit in public? So dreamy.
After the movie, we headed to Denny's to get some food...because I didn't feed them before hand. (They got popcorn and sour straws at the movie! I'm not that cruel!)
Waiting on our grub.
Then I dropped my lovely dates off at their house and headed home.
I had a great time and can't wait to force them to go see the second movie with me when it comes out!
Ditching my dates.

May the odds be ever in your favor!

Tiny steps.

This is my first blog post...Ok, it's not. I have started a blog so many times that I can’t even begin to count. I have decided to give it another shot. We’ll see how it goes...hopefully better than before!

I’m assuming if you are reading this that you already know me, but as we all know, you should never assume. So let me give you a quick run-down on me:
Me on my birthday.

I’m 25 years old. I am in my third year as an elementary teacher. I love my job....most of the time. Like every profession, there are days that I question my choice of profession, but 95% of the time, I know that I have made the correct choice for me. I am also an assistant volleyball coach. This was my first year as a coach. I was somewhat reluctant at first (only because volleyball wasn’t my sport when I was in school), but I am so thankful that I decided to go through with it. I had a blast with my “girls” and we ended up with a great season.

God has blessed me with two of the most supportive parents ever. They are absolutely fantastic! They are always there for me when I need them. My dad, Mike, is a retired teacher/coach, who spends his time substitute teaching...and helping my brother coach. My mom, Martha, is a nurse.

I am the youngest of four brilliant children. We are all teachers, two at the high school level (Ashley and Luke) and two at the elementary level (Jess and myself). As mentioned above, my brother is a football coach. During the fall, I usually can be found hanging out at the football field with his children. Between my siblings, I have the pleasure of being “Aunt Sara”to ten fabulously beautiful children: Jerica, Baylee, Jacey, Kamryn, Donte, Caden, Delaney, Kale, Leighton, and Brandon.
My wonderful family.

So, that's me in a nutshell. Post 1 down...hopefully many more to come :)
